To measure a blouse at home, wear a well-fitting inner garment, keep the tape snug but not tight, and note bust, waist, shoulder, armhole, sleeve length, blouse length and front and back neck depth.

Your blouse size is your bust measurement in inches rounded up to the next even number, so a 35 inch bust is a size 36.

Most blouses need between 0.8 and 1.5 metres of 44 inch wide fabric, depending on bust size, sleeve length and blouse length.

Choose the occasion first, then the saree fabric. Simple necklines suit heavy silk sarees, while bold backs and sleeves suit plain georgette and net.

A typical Indian size M (bust 36 inches) is a US 6, UK 10 and EU 38, but sizes vary between brands, so always compare with your own measurements.

Can I get a custom gown for a party, engagement or reception?
Yes. Custom ball gowns, mermaid gowns, satin evening gowns and off-shoulder gowns can be made for parties, engagements, receptions, cocktail nights and other special occasions.

Can you make a blouse or outfit from a reference photo?
Yes. Send a photo of the design you like, and Prernaa's will recreate or adapt it to your measurements, fabric and occasion.
You can also bring your own idea and have it designed from scratch. For the best result, share the saree or fabric colour, the neckline and sleeve style you prefer, and any embroidery or sequin work you want.
Do you do embroidery and sequin work on blouses and outfits?
Yes. Embroidery and sequin work is one of the studio's core services, available on blouses, ethnic wear and designer outfits for festive, wedding and special-occasion wear.
Designs range from subtle borders and accents to fully worked panels. Share a reference and your budget, and we will suggest what suits the outfit. Heavily worked pieces take longer, so book early.
Do you do alterations on outfits I already own?
Yes. Prernaa's offers alterations and custom stitching, including resizing blouses, adjusting fit and length, and restyling outfits you already have.
Send a photo of the outfit and what you would like changed on WhatsApp, and we will confirm whether it can be done and what it will cost.
