How the schedule is worked out
Each type of outfit has a suggested planning window that grows with the amount of embroidery or detail. The planner counts back from your event date and spaces out the steps: sharing the idea, finalising the design and fabric, taking measurements, starting embroidery, a first trial fitting, alterations, a final fitting and pickup with a buffer before the event.
Suggested planning windows
| Outfit | Simple | Some detail | Heavy embroidery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blouse | 2 weeks | 3 weeks | 5 weeks |
| Kurti or ethnic set | 2 weeks | 3 weeks | 5 weeks |
| Dress or gown | 30 days | 45 days | 60 days |
| Lehenga | 45 days | 60 days | 90 days |
| Alteration | 1 week | 10 days | 2 weeks |
Important
These are planning buffers, not a delivery promise. Actual timing depends on the design, the fabric and the studio’s workload at the time, particularly in wedding and festive seasons. Tell the studio your event date when you enquire so they can confirm what is possible.
Tips for staying on schedule
- Buy fabric and decide the design before you book measurements.
- Avoid changing the design after embroidery begins.
- Leave a buffer for travel and last-minute touch-ups.
- For weddings, keep matching items such as dupatta and petticoat in the plan too.

Frequently asked questions
How early should I start my wedding blouse?
+
Start at least 5 weeks ahead for a heavily embroidered blouse, and 3 weeks for a blouse with some detail. Earlier is safer in wedding season.
How long before an event should a lehenga be ordered?
+
Plan 2 to 3 months ahead for a lehenga, and more for heavy bridal work.
What if my event is sooner than the suggested time?
+
Message the studio straight away with your date. A rush may or may not be possible, and the studio will tell you honestly.
How many fittings will I need?
+
Usually a first trial fitting and a final fitting. Detailed outfits may need an extra adjustment.
Is my date or plan stored?
+
No. The planner runs in your browser and nothing is stored or sent unless you choose to message the studio.
